| How is the JEF Funded? The Foundation coordinates the fundraising efforts of various groups under the JEF umbrella. The Foundation offers fundraising events like the Jog-A-Thon and Olympics. Due to its non-profit, tax-exempt status, the Foundation also applies for grants from major corporations, which contributes to fundraising efforts. |
Why a Foundation? Public education is at a critical crossroads due to increasing academic standards, advances in technology, and changing classroom needs. Inadequate funding to meet these changes created a growing financial gap between the needs of the school and the availability of funds. The JEF has accepted the challenge of filling this gap, using fundraising, contributions, and gifts to support projects over and above those normally included in the school budget. |
How are funds distributed?
The JEF Board will accept budget requests from organizations and individuals within Junction School. Based on these requests, an annual working budget will be adopted and used to determine funding levels. After receiving input from the community and school personnel, the Board will approve requests and disperse monies.

How does the JEF affect the quality of the educational environment at Junction School?
Over the years, Junction School District has become a focal point for offering a number of enriching school and community activities. This has provided our students with a link between their community and their school. As the scope and variety of these events has evolved, many of our children have benefited. It is important that we open up the world to them and continue adding dimension to their lives. JEF is committed to expanding and extending education.
