Mrs. Megan Coates

I am thrilled to join Junction Elementary School District as the Vice Principal, Director of Special Education, and ELOP Coordinator.  My heart is in education, and I'm deeply committed to helping students, especially those who need a little extra support to succeed.  I earned a Master of Science in Special Education, and my undergraduate work focused on Family and Human Development.  With a diverse background in education, I've had the privilege of serving in various roles, from instructional aide and program assistant with the county office of education to an education specialist working in both special day classrooms and resource settings.

These experiences have given me a comprehensive understanding of how schools function at every level, and I'm excited to bring that knowledge to my role at Junction.  Over the years, I've worked with multiple districts and partners, and I've learned that collaborative, supportive environments are key to creating successful teachers and students.  Strong partnerships with parents, staff, and community members are essential to enriching the educational experience and ensuring that our students thrive.

Outside my professional role, I am grateful to spend time with my wonderful family, which includes my husband, four kids, three grandkids, one daughter-in-law, and four dogs.  They bring joy and excitement to my life every day!

I look forward to being a valuable and supportive member of the Junction team and working together to keep our school district a special place for both students and staff.
