Ms. Hope Bjerke

I am happy to be back on the Junction School Board and I look forward to working with the other board members and the community to support our school. My husband Dave and I have lived in Palo Cedro for over 32 years. Our daughter, Randi, graduated from Junction and our granddaughter, Katie, was a student at Junction.
I was a classroom mathematics teacher for thirty-five years and for the last twelve years I have been a mathematics coach. I worked with the teachers at Junction, as their coach, for six of those years. Now I work for CPM Educational, the publisher of the math program currently being used in our middle school. I help teachers in their classrooms to implement the program more effectively.
Some of my professional work experience includes: President of the California Mathematics Council – Northern Section, currently serving as Membership Chair. I have served on the California Curriculum Commission as Chair of the Mathematics Subject Matter Committee, I served as Western Regional Director for the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics, and I currently serve on the Program Committee for the annual California Mathematics Council Conference at Asilomar.
I believe all children have the capacity to become academically competent and confident when provided a rigorous and challenging learning program supported by high expectations. I look forward to working with all of the other shareholders in the Junction community.
